the USSR and the U.S. were the world's leading superpowers during the cold war. After World War 2 these two world powers were competing in a race. Both of them being world powers and armed with atomic weapons they did not get in to any actual fighting. The mere cost of keeping up with each other was high for both countries. For the USSR itwas like so many things at the same time. Their economy soon collapsed at the high price of competing with the U.S. With the collapse of the USSR the communist countries that they supported soon also collapsed due to the fact that their main source of money came from Soviet Russia.

AFRICAN INDEPENDENCE

africa changed so much during the 20 year time period.
one of the causes of the african change was because the british colony developed the first african colony in south sahara to basically achieve independence, called the gold coast. some of the leaders during the african independence were: mobutu sese seko,ahmed ben bella,kwane nkrumah and jomo kenyatta.

kwane nkrumah was the most important leader becuase he was the one who helped to liberate the Gold coast from the british.
after all the revolutions and stuff the had they finally received their independence and they took the name ghana and this nation became the first nation to be governed by black africans.

Gandhi helped his nation of India gain independence because of the strategies he used against the British. He didnt use violence to fight for the independence of india, and this made the British look careless of it's people. Civil disobedience is the refusal to obey and unjust law.

The movie 'Schindler's list' for me illustrated the holocaust because it basically shows everything that happened during the war and how the nazis tried to exterminate the jews. This movie showed a lot of scenes that really surprised me especially when the nazis took all the Jewish children away from their families to kill them because they were unable to work. The images that will stay with me would be when they were burning all the dead bodies like if they were nothing, and when the nazis made the jews walk naked in front of everybody and the jews basically looked like skeletons because the nazis never fed them.

The Treaty of Versailles

after the treaty of versallies Geramny was very affected with this because many things changed.
Germany was compelled to yield control of its colonies.And would also lose a major number of european territories, Germany's army got eliminated, Germany had to pay for all the damages and losses. I think it was fair because Germany and all it's allies destroyed and affected so many things and it was time for them to pay for all the errors.
because all he wantes was POWER so he convinced the people by making them think that after all he was going to regain the POWER.

Mustafa Kemal (Ataturk) and the Modernization of Turkey

Mustafa thought it was necessary to abolish the fez and stop all the ignorance , neglicence,fanaticism and start living like a civilized society. Mustafa wanted turkish republic to show and prove that they were able to civilized by their ideas, by their mentality,by their family life and their way of living which meant THE TRULY CIVILIZED PEOPLE OF TURKEY.

He wanted everybody to modernize and he started spreading out what he wanted for the civilization. He explained that a civilized, international dress is worthy and appropiate for the a also wanted women to stop wearing those pieces of cloth or towels over their head to hide their faces and to stop turnning backs or huddle themselves on the grpund when a man passes by. Mustafa said that it was time to stop these traditions that were oly making the society look rediciolus.
Step by step Mustafa expressed the new things and the new ways of living as a modernize civilization.
Mustafa make Turkey became A CIVILIZED WORD!!!
